Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State wrestling upsets No. 6 Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Ore. — The No. 19 Broncos won the season’s first edition of the Border War on Sunday, beating the defending Pac-12 champion Beavers 19-18. Chris Castillo (149 pounds), Austin Dewey (174), Jacob Swartz (184), J.T. Felix (heavyweight) and Rami Haddadin (125) all earned victories for BSU (1-1), which has won six straight Pac-12 duals.

BSU WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: The Broncos (2-3) lost at South Dakota 74-61. Brandi Henton scored a team-high 18 points.

BSU DIVING: Ciera Cortney placed ninth and Erin Kohlbeck took in 12th on the final day of the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos signed high school seniors Sara Ketelsleger (Chino Hills, Calif.), ShaeLee Pearson (Taylorsville, Utah), Rachel Rodriguez (Fresno, Calif.) and Makenzie Sullivan (Tucson) to national letters of intent for 2015.

IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: Alyssa Schultz is a first team All-WAC selection, Taylor Wilkinson made the second team and Ali Forde is on the all-freshman team.
