Idaho colleges roundup: C of I volleyball team opens national Saturday tonight

CALDWELL — The No. 21-ranked Coyotes host No. 25 Rocky Mountain in the opening round of the NAIA Championships at 7 p.m. A total of 24 teams will compete at 12 campus sites, and the winners will advance to the NAIA Final Site in Sioux City, Iowa, on Dec. 3-7. Liz Myers (Middleton High) led the C of I in kills (308) and the Cascade Conference in blocks (136) during the regular season.

C OF I WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Dayna Drager scored a game-high 22 points as the Coyotes defeated Montana Western in Caldwell. The C of I (1-4) used a 20-4 run late in the game to rally for the win.

C OF I MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Coyotes (6-2) beat Colorado-Colorado Springs 78-74 at the NNU/C of I Invitational Classic in Nampa.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE MEN’S BASKETBALL: The Crusaders (1-2) had 20 turnovers in a 73-65 loss to Montana Western in the NNU/C of I tournament.

NNU SOFTBALL: The Crusaders signed two players from Oregon. Kiahna Brown (Redmond High) is a third baseman, and Lisa Sylvester (Bend High) is a catcher.

BOISE STATE SWIMMING AND DIVING: Senior diver Ciera Cortney finished sixth in the 3-meter at the Wildcat Invitational in Tucson, Ariz.
