Convicted sex offender charged with indecent exposure

November 22, 2013

— A Boise man has been arrested after several women told police that he exposed his genitals to them.

The women were near an alley in the area of West Jefferson and North 15th Streets Aug. 2 when they said a stranger drove by them slowly several times and exposing himself.

Investigators say they found evidence that 42-year-old Fred Julian McLeod, a registered sex offender who lives in Boise, was responsible. A warrant was issued for McLeod, and he was arrested Thursday.

McLeod has been previously convicted of indecent exposure in 2004 and 2007. Prosecutors dismissed a 2006 indecent exposure charge. The suspect also has previous convictions for DUI, stalking, and domestic violence.

He was charged with felony indecent exposure. His previous convictions for the same charge have been misdemeanors. If convicted, he could face up to ten years in prison.

McLeod is currently held in the Ada County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
