November 21, 2013

— The search is on for a suspect in what police are characterizing as an attempted robbery Wednesday night in Garden City.

According to Garden City police, the man walked into the Subway at 6667 North Glenwood St. at about 8:50 p.m. with a handgun. The Subway employee spotted the gun and fled out the restaurant’s back door, leaving the suspect in the store.

The employee told police the man was between 5’10 and 6’0, and wore a dark hoodie and dark sweatpants, with a bandanna pulled up over his face.

Officers with the Garden City Police Department and the Boise Police Department combed the area around the store but turned up no trace of the suspect. Police did not release whether the man stole anything from the store, saying that details of the robbery are still under investigation.

Anyone with information about the suspect is urged to call Garden City police at 472-2950 or Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS.
