Treasure Valley cities to light their Christmas trees

Over a thousand people gathered around the Capitol Christmas Tree Monday Nov. 22, 2010 for the official tree lighting ceremony with Gov. Butch Otter and his family. Music from local choirs, brass bands and Santa Claus himself attended the event on the steps of the Statehouse in downtown Boise.

• Caldwell: 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, South 7th Avenue and Blaine Street. Part of the 6th annual Winter Wonderland event, which features 500,000 lights, 6-9 p.m.

• Nampa: 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, Horse Mural Park, 12th Avenue South and 1st Street South.

• Boise: 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, in the Grove Plaza.

• Capitol Christmas Tree: 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, 700 W. Jefferson St. Open house follows in governor’s ceremonial office.

• Garden City: 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 2, City Hall, 6015 Glenwood St.

• Meridian: 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, Generations Plaza, Main Street and Idaho Avenue. Follows inaugural Winter Lights Parade, which begins at Main and Franklin Road.

• Star: 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, City Hall, 10769 W. State St.

• Eagle: 5:05 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, Heritage Park, 185 E. State St. Festivities start at noon.

• Kuna: 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, Colonel Bernard Fisher park, 201 W. Main St. Night Light Parade at 6 p.m.
