Boise police hope images will lead to ATM theft suspect

November 19, 2013

— Boise police released images Thursday that they hope will lead to identifying a suspect in the theft of an ATM from a business on South Latah Street on Nov. 19.

Officers were dispatched to an alarm at 2:42 a.m. on Latah near West Alpine street. When they arrived at the business, they found the ATM had been stolen.

A witness reported seeing a pickup speeding away from the location of the theft.

Police believe the suspect is also responsible for an ATM incident earlier that morning on Fairview Avenue.

Officers responding to an alarm at a credit union in the 10900 block of Fairview at 1:55 a.m. found the business’ ATM had been tampered with. The machine’s control panel showed obvious signs of damage, but no cash had been stolen, police say.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 343-COPS or leave a tip at www.343cops.com.
