Man charged after West Boise truck break-in

November 19, 2013

— A Boise man is in the Ada County Jail after police say he burglarized a truck near West Cory Lane and North Mitchell Street on Sunday night.

The pickup’s owner told police he spotted Shawn David Bernhardt, 22, rummaging through the vehicle, which was parked in front of the owner’s home.

The victim called police and described Bernhardt. Officers found him walking a short distance from where the break-in happened. Police say they found evidence that Bernhardt had broken into the pickup to steal items inside. He was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail.

Bernhardt has been charged with felony burglary and is being held on a $10,000 bond.
