October typically ushers in slow sales in the Treasure Valley housing market. This October was slower than last years, according to the Intermountain Multiple Listings Service.
Could this be the end of the markets post-recession rise? Hardly, says Janet Parsons, a real estate agent at Keller Williams Realty of Boise. She said the buying season started a month early in the spring and now its ending a little early. The lower year-over-year numbers dont mean the market is experiencing a significant downturn, she says.
I dont think its abnormal, Parsons says. Sales might have changed sooner because interest rates were fluctuating, but this feels seasonal.
