Bicyclist cited after hitting minivan Sunday evening in Boise

November 18, 2013

The collision occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Veterans Memorial Parkway and State Street.

According to Boise police, a minivan headed north on Veterans Memorial had a green light at State. A 36-year-old man on a bicycle equipped with a small motor — headed west on State — had a red light, failed to stop and hit the side of the minivan.

The bicyclist did not have a helmet but was up and walking after the crash, according to police. He was taken to a local hospital with a head injury.

Police cited the man for not stopping at the red light — a fine of $61.50. His name was not released Monday morning.
