Steelheads earn second win in two nights on road

SAN FRANCISCO — Idaho captain Justin Mercier extended his goal-scoring streak to four games as the Steelheads defeated the San Francisco Bulls 3-1 on Saturday night. Goalie Josh Robinson stopped 30 shots and Idaho killed off San Francisco’s final seven power-play opportunities.

Three players scored for Idaho (6-4-2): Mercier, William Rapuzzi and Carl Sneep. Idaho went 1-for-7 on the power play, and San Francisco went 1-for-8 with a man advantage.

Idaho returns home to host the Utah Grizzlies on Wednesday. The puck drops at 7:10 p.m. at CenturyLink Arena.
