SAN FRANCISCO — Mitch Wahl scored two power-play goals, including a game-tying goal with 36 seconds remaining in regulation, and Idaho defeated San Francisco 4-3. The last time the two teams met, on Oct. 23 in Idaho, the Steelheads (5-4-2) scored in the final minute of regulation before going on to an overtime victory.

Friday’s game featured two goaltenders who were teammates on Idaho’s roster last season. Josh Robinson (2-1-0) stopped 23-of-26 shots in live play for Idaho, and Tyler Beskorowany stopped 31-of-34 for the Bulls. Anthony Nigro won the game in the sixth round of the shootout.

Robinson returned to the Steelheads prior to the game after serving a second stint with the Texas Stars of the AHL. The second-year pro was Idaho’s MVP last season. Goalie Chris Carrozzi (0-1) was released to make room for Robinson.
