Boise State wrestling team drops opening dual

BOISE — Wyoming defeated the Broncos 17-15 in Boise State’s home opener Friday at Bronco Gym. The match was tied at 15-15 before Wyoming’s Dakota Friesth earned an 8-3 decision over sophomore Taylor West, who was wrestling for the first time at 165 pounds. Boise State’s Jake Swartz, ranked No. 5, earned a 5-1 decision over No. 16 Benjamin Stroh in the only match featuring ranked opponents.
