Police: Woman hit officers after they asked her to leave

November 12, 2013

— A Boise woman was arrested Friday night after police say she struck two officers.

Police received a report that the suspect, 22-year-old Markee Rebecca Cook, was at the home of an acquaintance and was refusing to leave.

Officers went out to the house, and told Cook the resident did not want her on the property, and she needed to leave.

Police said the suspect walked into the street carrying a container of beer, and began shouting at the officers and refusing to leave.

When officers tried to take her into custody, Cook allegedly struck two of the officers. One was hit in the face, and the other was hit in the chest and shoulder, police said.

Cooked was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail. She is charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer and misdemeanor counts of resisting and obstructing and possession of an open container.

Cook is due to be arraigned in court Tuesday afternoon.
