Pedestrian struck by car in Nampa has died

November 12, 2013

— A 66-year-old Caldwell man who was hit by a car in Nampa has died, police said.

Carlos Garcia succumbed to his injuries Saturday, four days after he was struck by the vehicle on 11th Avenue. Police say the man was running across the street when he was hit. He was less than 50 feet from a pedestrian crossing.

The driver of one car spotted Garcia and stopped in time, but the second car crashed into him. That driver, a 33-year-old Boise man, was not cited in the wreck.

Police were unable to locate Garcia’s family members, who live out of state, until Monday.
