Police: Boise man pulled knife during argument in Walmart parking lot Sunday

November 10, 2013

A 55-year-old Boise man has been charged with aggravated assault after police say he threatened another man with a knife in a store parking lot. Just before 8 a.m. Sunday, police were called to a report of a fight outside the Walmart at 7319 W. State Street.

Raleigh Richard Day has been booked into the Ada County Jail on a charge of aggravated assault.

According to Garden City Police, Day pulled out a folding pocket knife during an argument with a 32-year-old Boise man in the parking lot of the Walmart. Day displayed the knife but didn't try to stab the other man, witnesses told police. No one was injured in the incident.

Garden City Police Sgt. Abe Blount said the men knew each other, and they got into an argument over a female acquaintance. The woman was not present, Blount said.
