Nampa Fire Captain returns to work

November 9, 2013

Capt. Chris Cade, a 17-year veteran with the Nampa Fire Department returned to full duty Saturday morning at Nampa Fire Station 3.

Police say Cade was one of six people assaulted in a violent, drug-fueled attack by a Nampa man near Meridian's Tully Park in August.

Cade's injuries were severe, including a broken rib, broken collar bone and fractured scapula.

Cade has not fully healed from his injuries, by has been working out and preparing to return to work since the attack, said Nampa Fire Chief Doug Strosnider in a release Saturday.

Cade will continue to have additional surgeries on his mouth and teeth, which were injured in the attack.

"We are ecstatic to have him back here with his second family," said Strosnider. "Captain Cade is a tremendous asset to our organization and our community is very fortunate to have such a dedicated individual working here."
