New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will visit Northern Idaho in December

November 9, 2013

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will visit Northern Idaho in December to raise funds for Gov. Butch Otter, according to the Coeur d'Alene Press.

Christie will headline a public rally held at 7:30 p.m., Dec. 6 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. The cost is $50 per person. There will be a separate VIP reception with Christie and Otter at 6 p.m. The cost to attend the reception is $1,000 per couple. Tickets will be available soon on Otter's website:

Christie recently won re-election in New Jersey with a record-setting 60 percent of the vote.

"We were really excited for Gov. Christie's historic win," said Otter campaign manager Jayson Ronk. The campaign received word on Friday that Christie would come to Idaho.

Members of the committee working to secure the governor said that organizers chose Coeur d'Alene for Christie's appearance because an appearance there in 2008 by former Vice President Dick Cheney, drew big crowds.
