Capital senior wins Wendy’s Heisman

Delaney Sauer was chosen as Idaho’s female winner of the annual Wendy’s High School Heisman Award, which recognizes the top student-athletes in each state who are “well-rounded young men and women who excel in learning, performing, and leading in the classroom, on the field and in the community.” Sauer will be a four-year starter for the Capital girls basketball team, and is now eligible to become one of 12 national finalists. Hagerman’s Kade Kress was selected as Idaho’s male winner.
