Eagle Sports Park neighbors allege city violated open meeting laws

The city of Eagle has held numerous meetings this year regarding the proposed terrain park at the city-operated, county-owned Eagle-Ada Sports Park off Horseshoe Bend Road.

About a dozen neighbors have filed a complaint in Fourth District Court alleging Eagle City Council violated Idaho's open meeting laws at its Oct. 8, 9 and 22 council meetings by discussing the possibility of purchasing Eagle Sports Park land from the Ada County without properly noticing the item would be discussed in open or executive session.

Attorney Andrew Schoppe filed the complaint Thursday on behalf of Joan and John Johnston, Terry and Robert Bonds, Pat Faur, Diana and Terry Gipson, Gayle Chapin, Dewey and Hollie Dolin, and James Pauls.

Eagle has not yet responded to the complaint.
