Canyon County Pet of the Week: Sam the border collie

November 5, 2013

Sam, 10, is a border collie who, with a little time and encouragement, can be a wonderful partner. He can be a little bit of a “fun police,” and will need a job to do, even at his age, to keep his herding instincts satisfied and his confidence up. He may have a tendency to round up and herd children a bit too much. Sam walks easily on a leash. He is in good physical shape for his age, and would enjoy spending time in and out of doors. Sam is neutered, microchipped and up to date on all vaccinations.

Sam is in kennel #220 at the Canyon County Animal Shelter at 5801 Graye Lane in Caldwell. The hours of operation are Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, visit www.canyoncountyshelter.org
