Boise man arrested after threats with wrench

November 4, 2013

— A 63-year-old man is facing a felony charge after police say he used a large wrench to break car windows and threaten another man.

The victim told officers that he spotted Richard Roy Rinehart using a crescent wrench to break out the windows and do body damage to the victim’s car Saturday. When he confronted Rinehart, who is an acquaintance, the suspect raised the wrench and threatened him with it, he said.

Police say the victim fled the area and called 911. Officers found and arrested Rinehart. He is charged with felony aggravated assault and felony injury to property.

Rinehart is set to be arraigned at the Ada County Courthouse Monday afternoon.
