The Chargers moved into the 2A state quarterfinals for the first time as an 11-man team with a victory over St. Maries (2-6). Cole Valley (9-0) led 17-0 early in the first quarter and held on to the lead throughout the game despite having just one possession in the second quarter. Senior quarterback Mason Vanderhoff completed 19-of-30 passes for 266 yards and two touchdowns - one apiece to senior Tallen Eveland and junior Jacob Booker. Wyatt Ruff added a 4-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.


Centennial broke open a tie game through three quarters with the help of senior running back Joe Murphy's 215 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The Patriots set a single-game school record for total rushing yards with 430, surpassing the previous record of 356 set in 2003. Murphy also added a receiving touchdown as the Patriots finished the season 3-6. Borah (2-7) was led by quarterback Cole Skinner, who passed for 287 yards and two TDs.


The Grizzlies rolled into the state quarterfinals with their third shutout of the season. Fruitland (8-1) will travel to District One-Two champion Timberlake next week.
