BOISE — Idaho defeated Ontario 4-3 on Saturday night as the Steelheads played beyond regulation for the third time in three home games to start the season. The two teams traded goals, with Tommy Grant, Taylor Vause and Mitch Wahl scoring for Idaho (3-2-1). Idaho goalie Pat Nagle stopped 37-of-40 shots in regulation and overtime, then turned away 3-of-4 shots in the shootout.

Prior to the game, the Steelheads signed goaltender Chris Carrozzi, who went 36-13-6 with Ontario last season. Idaho traded goaltender Garrett Bartus to Evansville for future considerations.
