A man was found dead of a gun shot wound Friday afternoon, according to the Ada County Sheriff’s Office. The body was found on the canal bank next to Black Cat Road.

Spokesman Patrick Orr said the death was likely a suicide. The body was spotted from the road by a passerby who called 911 at 12:56 p.m.

"It looks like a single gunshot wound," he said. "There is no indication of foul play at this point."

Black Cat Road is closed at McMillan Road as deputies investigate the scene. The closure extends about 1,000 feet south of McMillan, Orr said.
