Halloween recap: Ron Burgundy on KIVI, the Otters at the Capitol, Harrison Boulevard fun

November 1, 2013

The trick-or-treating is over, but the memories of Halloween are still fresh.

Thanks to KIVI TV sports director Paul Gerke, Halloween 2013 will be remembered by many for his commandeering of his station's nightly Treasure Valley newscast with his tastefully hilarious impression of Ron Burgundy (check out the video on the right side of this page), the fictional anchorman made famous by Will Ferrell.

Of course, fictional characters were everywhere Thursday night. Gov. Butch Otter and First Lady Lori Otter continued their tradition of dressing in costume and welcoming area children to the state Capitol for photos and treats.

The North End's Harrison Boulevard is typically one of the most popular trick-or-treating destinations in the Boise area, and that proved true again this year. The Statesman's Katherine Jones captured this gallery of images from the festivities.
