Grocery Grab generates money for healthy snack program

Meridian Mayor Tammy De Weerd had two minutes to scoop as many groceries as she could — not so much for the food, but for the dollar amount, with a goal of $1,000. After the amount was tallied, Albertsons ended up donating $3,500 to help the nonprofit After School Snack Program provide healthy snacks in the Treasure Valley this school year, through United Way and Boys and Girls Clubs of Ada County and Nampa and the Caldwell Family YMCA.
