Idaho colleges roundup: San Diego State downs Boise State volleyball 3-0

BOISE — The Aztecs got out to a fast start against the Broncos, winning 25-13, 25-23, 25-18 on Saturday night at Bronco Gym. Boise State led in the second and third sets before SDSU rallied for the sweep. Katelyn Kinghorn and Taylor Murphey led BSU (10-11, 4-7 Mountain West) with six kills apiece.

BSU MEN’S GOLF: Ty Travis carded the lowest score of the final round at the Price’s Give ’Em Five Invitational, finishing tied for 22nd at 1-over 217. Boise State (889) took 13th, while New Mexico State (836) won the tournament.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO MEN’S BASKETBALL: Jordan O’Byrne scored 22 points, and Antonio Garrett had 14 points and 11 rebounds, but the Coyotes lost to Rocky Mountain College 98-86 at the Finny Memorial Classic in Dillon, Mont.

C OF I VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes swept Concordia 25-20, 25-22, 25-16 in Caldwell. Liz Myers had a match-high 16 kills for the C of I (12-9, 12-2 Cascade).

C OF I MEN’S SOCCER: Northwest beat the Coyotes (4-11, 4-7 CCC) 1-0 in overtime in Kirkland, Wash.

C OF I WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Coyotes (3-12-0, 1-7-0 CCC) lost to Northwest Christian 2-0 in Caldwell.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE WOMEN’S SOCCER: The Crusaders (1-11-3, 0-9-3 GNAC) lost to Western Washington 6-0 in Bellingham, Wash.

NNU MEN’S SOCCER: Western Washington edged the Crusaders (3-6-5, 3-5-3 GNAC) 1-0 in OT in Bellingham, Wash.

NNU CROSS COUNTRY: Natalie Evans placed ninth at the GNAC Championships in Monmouth, Ore., covering the 6,000-meter course in 21 minutes, 0.55 seconds. The women took seventh, while the men finished ninth on the 8k course. Alaska-Anchorage won both team titles.
