Hooters opened on Franklin Road in Boise more than eight years ago.

STATESMAN FILE — Statesman file

Chick-fil-A plans to build a new restaurant in Boise where Hooters is now located, according to a permit filed Tuesday with the city.

The chicken-sandwich restaurant chain plans to build a 4,825-square-foot restaurant with a drive-through window at 8000 W. Franklin Road in Boise. That's about 700 square feet smaller than the Hooters restaurant.

Chick-fil-A has opened two new restaurants recently — at Broadway Avenue and Front Street in Downtown Boise and in the new Village at Meridian center on Eagle Road in Meridian.

The Hooters property owner, based in North Dakota, signed a document Oct. 20 giving permission to Chick-fil-A to file its application.
