Ada County Pet of the Week: Mike the coonhound mix

October 22, 2013

Mike, 2, is a neutered male, black, tan and white, Bluetick coonhound mix. Mike was transferred to the IHS from a crowded southern Idaho shelter. He is a typical laidback, happy-go-lucky hound. Like many hounds, he loves to follow his nose, so will need a securely fenced yard. At the shelter Mike has gotten along well with other dogs of his similar size. His coat is a short and easy to care for, but will not provide him enough protection to stay outdoors in cold weather.

Mike can be found in kennel 403 (#21047976) at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise. The shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
