Borah's Hawkins Mann

Hawkins Mann, a former defensive end for the Borah Lions, moved to Southern California this fall and has been playing football for Burroughs High School in Burbank.

The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Mann committed to Boise State this past summer, but he told the San Diego Union-Tribune that he committed to San Diego State on Friday.

“I’m really comfortable in California, and I’m enjoying the weather and everything,” Mann said. “So I just wanted to stay out here.”

Before the season — and before his transfer — Mann appeared on the Idaho Statesman's high school football preview section, as one of three local defensive players that had committed to Football Bowl Subdivision schools. Mann has deep family ties to the area and football.
