2-year-old boy hit by car released from hospital, driver won't be cited

October 20, 2013

— A 2-year-old boy who was taken to the hospital Sunday afternoon after he was struck by a vehicle in a neighborhood cul-de-sac south of Boise was released, Ada County Sheriff's Office spokesman Patrick Orr said. He was released Sunday.

The 36-year-old driver who collided with the boy won't be cited, Orr said.

The accident was reported at 2:08 p.m. in the 3500 block of Zion Place, near Cloverdale and Victory roads, according to Ada County Dispatch.

Orr said the toddler was at neighbor's house playing with some older kids before the accident happened. The child tried to run home at the same time a woman was backing out of a driveway in a Chevy Malibu. The boy was struck by the truck.

Paramedics transported the boy to a Boise hospital for treatment.
