One killed, one injured in crash near Mountain Home late Saturday

October 20, 2013

A 73-year-old Middleton woman was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. 20 east of Mountain Home Sunday night, according to Idaho State Police.

Debra Templeton, 73, who was a passenger in the 1978 Shasta van, was wearing a seat belt, but she was ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene.

Driver William Templeton, 68, also of Middleton, was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. He was not wearing a seat belt, investigators say.

The Templetons were traveling west on U.S. 20 when the crash occurred near milepost 100. Investigators say William Templeton drove off the right shoulder, then over-corrected. The vehicle rolled.

The crash blocked the highway for three hours. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
