Capital football completes decade of dominance with 77-27 win over Borah

STATESMAN STAFFOctober 18, 2013

Capital’s 77-27 victory over Borah on Thursday night at Dona Larsen Park marks the 10th straight season in which the Eagles have swept their Boise School District opponents.

Since 2004, Capital coach Todd Simis and the Eagles are 33-0 against intra-city foes Boise, Borah and Timberline.

“We are proud of our kids. This goes back to years of kids working hard and getting up for every game,” Simis said.

Capital led 42-21 at the half and had 70 points midway through the third quarter.

“Our guys respect Borah, and the last couple of years have been great football games, so they understood the importance of this game,” Simis said. “We scored 42 in the first half and I still didn’t feel comfortable because Borah scored 21.”
