doland@idahostatesman.comOctober 18, 2013

5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24, Boise Art Museum, 670 Julia Davis Drive. $15 general, $10 BAM members, in advance. $20 and $15 at the door. 345-8330, BoiseArtMuseum.org.

Art, music and food will “Converge” at the Boise Art Museum during the closing night party for “Kehinde Wiley: The World Stage” exhibit.

Wiley’s large-scale, symbol-rich portraits of urban African, African-American, Afro-Brazilian, Indian and Ethiopian-Jewish men explore the global black diaspora.

The event — one of several the museum has produced to reach a new audience — will also celebrate the growing diversity of Boise’s culture with fusion cuisine performances by six DJs who will spin world beats inspired by Wiley’s paintings.
