Steelheads' opening-day roster announced Thursday

STATESMAN STAFFOctober 17, 2013

Former Idaho player and fan favorite Jeremy Yablonski has been in training camp with the Steelheads this month, and is expected to make the squad when the roster is officially released by the ECHL.

The league reported Wednesday that the enforcer and one-time NHL player has signed a contract with Idaho and will start the 72-game season on the reserve list, meaning he could be inactive for Friday's opener at Utah, but could be added to the active roster at any time. The home opener is Wednesday against San Francisco (7:10 p.m. at CenturyLink Arena).

"I'm excited about the players we brought in, and now I'm anxious to see how we come together as a team,'' Idaho second-year coach Brad Ralph said.
