Idaho Falls driver wins overall title at Firebird Raceway

EAGLE — Ryan Cook won the overall Grand Championship Runoff at the NAPA Halloween Classic XX at Firebird Raceway. Cook drove his rear-engined Dragster to a 7.88 elapsed time at 169.30 miles per hour to upend Terol Rasmussen of Boise, who finished at 11.82-112.41. Cook won nine rounds of racing in the last two days of the event and earned a payout of $5,000. The Top Gun Championship was scored by another eastern Idaho racer as Blu Hayball of Fort Hall defeated Gene Kelly of Emmett. The winning time for Hayball’s dragster was 8.01-127.56.
