Scott finishes 27th in Sprint Cup debut

STATESMAN STAFFOctober 13, 2013

Boise driver Brian Scott successfully completed his first NASCAR Sprint Cup race Saturday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C., winding up in the middle of the pack in the Bank of America 500.

The 25-year-old, who started 19th, ended up shy of his goal of a top-20 finish. He was four laps behind winner Brad Keselowski. But he did accomplish one of his goals for the night — finishing higher than fellow rookie Kyle Larson. Larson took 37th. Scott earned $92,718.

Scott’s team tweeted updates throughout the race, saying, “RCR crew has done an outstanding job on pit road. No. 33 fighting a tight condition after struggling with a loose car.”
