Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State soccer shuts out San Jose State

BOISE - Gabby Garcia, Kayla Tucker and Katy Oehring scored in the 3-0 win Friday. It was the sixth shutout of the season for goalkeeper Maddy McDevitt. BSU (8-4-2, 3-1 Mountain West) outshot the Spartans 24-2.

BSU SWIMMING & DIVING: The Broncos are in the lead after the first day of the Bulldog Invitational in Fresno, Calif. The 200-yard medley relay team set a pool and meet record (1:43.15), while BSU also got wins from Felicity Cann (500 freestyle, 4:56.52), Jessica Bottelberghe (200 IM, 2:05.3) and Brittany Aoyama (50 freestyle, 23.61).

BSU MEN'S TENNIS: Thomas Tenreiro earned a 6-3, 1-6, 6-3 singles victory and teamed with Toby Mitchell for an 8-3 doubles victory at the Battle in the Bay Classic in San Francisco. Brendan McClain and Garrett Patton also won their doubles match 8-4.

BSU WOMEN'S TENNIS: Teal Vosburgh lost 6-1, 7-5 in the round of 16 at the USTA/ITA Mountain Regional in Las Vegas.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes swept Northwest 25-21, 25-10, 25-15 in Kirkland, Wash. Emily Ottinger led the C of I (8-8, 8-2 CCC) with 11 kills.
