BOISE The Broncos debuted at No. 20 in the Preseason InterMat College Rankings, joining No. 6 Oregon State and No. 25 Stanford as the only Pac-12 programs in the Top 25. Boise State opened practice Thursday and competes Nov. 2 at the Cowboy Open in Laramie, Wyo., and Nov. 15 at home against Wyoming. Individually, Boise State redshirt senior Jake Swartz (184 pounds) and senior J.T. Felix (285) will open the season ranked fifth nationally in their respective weight classes.
Three Boise State matches and the Pac-12 Championships will be televised this season, the Pac-12 Networks announced. The Broncos matches at Stanford (Jan. 9 at 5:30 p.m. MT) and Arizona State (Jan. 24 at 5 p.m.) will be broadcast on the networks primary channel, and the match at Oregon State (Nov. 24 at noon) will be broadcast on Pac-12 Oregon, one of the six regional networks that comprise the Pac-12 Networks. The Pac-12 Championships are March 2 in Palo Alto, Calif.
BSU VOLLEYBALL: The Broncos (8-8, 2-4 MW) fell to Wyoming 25-17, 25-20, 26-24 in Laramie. Alyssa Gammel, Brittany Reardon and Sarah Horton all led the Broncos with nine kills apiece.
The Oct. 3 match between Boise State and Air Force that was postponed because of the partial government shutdown has been rescheduled for Oct. 20. The match will start at 7 p.m. in Bronco Gym.
BSU WOMENS TENNIS: Sandy Vo and Teal Vosburgh won in straight sets to advance to the round of 32 at the USTA/ITA Mountain Regional Championships in Las Vegas. Vo defeated Montanas Ashley Mackey 6-4, 6-3, while Vosburgh downed Brittany Collens from New Mexico State 6-4, 7-5 to move into Fridays third round.
COLLEGE OF IDAHO WOMENS SOCCER: The Coyotes (4-6-1, 1-2 Cascade) lost to Oregon Tech 1-0 at Simplot Stadium in Caldwell.
NORTHWEST NAZARENE WOMENS SOCCER: Montana State Billings scored with 17 seconds left to force a 1-1 tie with the Crusaders (1-7-2, 0-5-2 GNAC) in Nampa.
NNU VOLLEYBALL: The Crusaders (9-4, 5-2 GNAC) defeated Montana State Billings 25-14, 25-19, 27-29, 25-16 in Nampa.
