What's open and closed for Columbus Day in the Treasure Valley

This is a list of what’s open and closed for Columbus Day, Oct. 14:

• Schools in the Boise, Meridian, Kuna, Caldwell, Melba and Vallivue, Nampa and Middleton school districts will be open.

• Boise State University and administrative offices will be open.

• All federal offices are closed.

• City, county and state offices may be closed. Call ahead.

• All local libraries will be open.

• Allied Waste in Ada and Canyon counties, Sanitary Services in Meridian, J & M Sanitation Service in Kuna and Benjamin’s Rural Disposal in rural Canyon County will operate a normal schedule.

• ValleyRide city buses will maintain regular schedules.

• Post offices will be closed, and no mail except Express Mail will be delivered.

• Boise Towne Square mall will be open. Boise Outlet Mall will be open.

• All state liquor stores will be open. Contract stores may be open.

• Most supermarkets will be open.

• Most banks will be closed. Some banks inside store locations may be open; check with your local branch.
