October 10, 2013

Idaho State Police said the driver of a truck hauling a load of onions collided with a car at an intersection south of Middleton on Thursday morning, killing a 72-year-old Caldwell woman.

Investigators said the driver of the truck - Katelyn Bergland, 22, of Nampa - was westbound on U.S. 20 approaching Middleton road and failed to stop at a stop light at the intersection.

Marlene Miller was traveling on Middleton Road, police said, and her car was struck by the truck.

Miller died at the scene. She was wearing a seat belt, police said.

The crash was still under investigation. Charges are possible, ISP said.
