Police: Bicyclist seriously injured in early afternoon Boise crash

October 7, 2013

A sport utility vehicle turning east onto Federal Way from the Broadway Avenue offramp collided with a bicyclist at about 1:30 p.m. Monday.

Police say the adult rider of the bicycle sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. No further details were available Monday afternoon, including the names of those involved.

The bicycle was pulling a trailer typically used to carry children, but it did not have a child in it at the time of the accident, police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said. It was carrying groceries instead.

Boise police crash reconstruction experts examined the scene. Eastbound Federal Way was closed for at least two hours during the investigation, according to police.
