Pedestrian killed crossing highway outside of Twin Falls

— A Jerome man died Sunday after he was struck by an SUV while trying to walk across U.S. Highway 30 outside Twin Falls.

Douglas S. Cornelius, 50, died from his injuries at the scene, according to the Idaho State Police. The driver, 40-year-old Jay L. Overmon Jr. of Kimberly, was headed west when the collision happened near milepost 221.

U.S. Highway 30 was blocked for three hours and 15 minutes after the crash. The wreck remains under investigation.
