October 4, 2013

— A mountain lion was spotted in southeast Boise Friday morning.

Dispatchers said the big cat was sighted near Warm Springs Avenue and Starview Drive at 11:02.

Boise police officers searched the area, but did not find any sign of the cougar.

A mountain lion was spotted just last week–Sept. 24–in Surprise Valley. A resident of the neighborhood said the animal was stalking him near Gateway Drive. Idaho Fish and Game Officials did not find the cougar.

In May, a mountain lion attacked two Yorkies in a Surprise Valley backyard, killing one of the dogs and injuring the other.
