Today’s prep football previews: Thursday, Oct. 3

October 3, 2013

Eagle at Borah (DLP)

Eagle also was unbeaten heading into this game last season, but Borah ended that streak with a 24-21 upset and its first win at Thunder Stadium since 2004. Eagle hopes this time to maintain a share of first place in the 5A SIC alongside unbeaten Capital. The Lions are coming off back-to-back losses for the first time since 2010. Meanwhile, Eagle produced a season-high 56 points in a win against Vallivue last week.

Nampa at Mountain Home

Mountain Home got the monkey off its back last week thanks to a 31-26 win over Caldwell, which marked the Tigers’ first victory since October of 2010. Mountain Home now aims to win two in a row for the first time since 2008. Nampa enters this game with momentum after picking up its first win of the season last week against Columbia.

Middleton at Emmett

Middleton hasn’t gone this far into its schedule without a win since 2008 when it started 0-3. While the Vikings find themselves in unfamiliar territory, Emmett hopes to right the ship after losing two straight games following a 3-0 start. The Huskies are one of three teams tied for third with 2-2 league records. The top three 4A SIC teams advance to the playoffs.

Skyview at Canyon Ridge

Skyview has ticked off three consecutive wins in dominant fashion since a season-opening loss to 4A SIC rival Bishop Kelly. The Hawks appear bound for a fourth straight victory against winless Canyon Ridge, a Twin Falls-based school that is averaging 13.3 points per game while giving up 32.3.
