Officer-involved crash in Eagle under investigation

October 2, 2013 

— An Eagle police cruiser was involved in a crash Tuesday evening at the intersection of Idaho 44 and Edgewood Lane.

The officer was responding with lights and sirens to a call for assistance from Eagle firefighters when the collision occurred. She was headed southbound on Edgewood Lane when she entered the intersection and was hit by a car going east on Idaho 44.

Both cars were damaged in the crash, which occurred just after 5 p.m., but neither the officer nor the other driver was injured, according tot the Ada County Sheriff’s Office.

Traffic on Eagle Road was slowed after the wreck as crews worked to remove debris and clear the cars from the road.

Garden City Police Department is investigating the wreck, but no citations had been issued by 9 p.m. Tuesday.
