Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State soccer falls to UNLV in MW opener

LAS VEGAS — The Broncos lost 2-1 despite outshooting the Rebels 13-5. Sophomore Brooke Heidemann scored the only goal for Boise State (5-4-2 overall), which plays at Nevada on Sunday.

BSU WOMEN’S TENNIS: The Broncos went 15-5 in matches at the Washington State Cougar Classic on Friday, with four individuals and three doubles teams advancing to quarterfinal matches.

COLLEGE OF IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Coyotes’ record-setting 73-match Cascade Conference home win streak ended with a 26-24, 18-25, 25-22, 23-25, 17-15 loss to Southern Oregon on Friday night in Caldwell. The C of I (7-6, 4-2 CC) had not lost a league game at home since Sept. 16, 2005.

C OF I MEN’S SOCCER: Warner Pacific defeated the Coyotes 4-3 in double overtime in Portland. Cristian Sanchez and Yan Gioseffi scored goals, and Joao Cardoso recorded an assist for the C of I (1-6, 1-2 CC), which erased a 2-1 second-half deficit but couldn’t hold on for the win.

IDAHO VOLLEYBALL: The Vandals lost their WAC opener late Thursday night, losing to Utah Valley 22-25, 25-22, 19-25, 25-21, 15-11 in Moscow. Alyssa Schultz, Ashley Christman and Jessica Hastriter contributed 13 kills apiece for Idaho (7-6).
