Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State volleyball outlasts San Jose State in five sets

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The Broncos held off a Spartan rally to win their first Mountain West Conference match 25-20, 25-20, 16-25, 22-25, 15-12 on Thursday night. BSU bounced back from an 11-7 deficit in the fifth game. Alyssa Gammel led the Broncos with 17 kills, followed by Sarah Horton with 15 and Brittany Reardon with 13. Boise State improves to 6-6 and 1-2 in conference.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE VOLLEYBALL: The Crusaders swept Alaska Fairbanks 25-12, 25-15, 25-21 in Nampa for their sixth straight win. Andrea Terpstra had a match-high 13 kills, and Elayna Rice added 10 kills for NNU (7-2, 3-0 GNAC).

NNU MEN'S SOCCER: The Crusaders tied Seattle Pacific 1-1 in Seattle. Fredy Razo scored his fifth goal of the season for NNU (0-3-3, 0-2-1 GNAC), and goalkeeper Ryan Foo made nine saves.

NNU WOMEN'S SOCCER: The Crusaders fell behind early and took a 4-1 loss to Central Washington in Ellensburg, Wash. Lexi Fesenbek scored the lone goal for NNU (1-4-1, 0-2-1 GNAC) off an assist from Sarah Jenkins in the 75th minute.
