Police: Burglary attempt foiled by observant neighbor

September 25, 2013

— A Boise woman was arrested Tuesday night after she was spotted acting suspiciously outside a Boise Bench home, police said.

A neighbor called police to report seeing Andrea Jo Seiler, 38, pull up to the house in a van and walk around outside it.

Officers who responded found Seiler in the van outside the home and determined that she had entered the house through an unlocked side door. The homeowner told police the suspect did not have permission to be in the house.

Police found a bottle of prescription pain medication in the van that they said Seiler had taken from the house. The woman was arrested and booked into Ada County Jail.

She faces a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Seiler is scheduled to be arraigned in court Wednesday afternoon.
