Boise State basketball will hold open scrimmage Saturday

BOISE — The Boise State men will scrimmage at 5 p.m. in Bronco Gym, about three hours before kickoff of the BSU-Southern Miss football game. Admission is free. The first official day of practice is Friday. Boise State opens its schedule Nov. 1 with an exhibition against Lewis-Clark State. The regular season tips off Nov. 8 against UT Arlington.

BSU MEN’S GOLF: Junior Ty Travis finished tied for fifth at the Dash Thomas Memorial on Tuesday at BanBury, and the Broncos finished 12th as a team. Travis (Eagle High) led after back-to-back sub-par rounds Monday, but carded a 5-over 76 in the final round to finish at 211 (-2). Sacramento State won the event, and Idaho finished second behind Rylee Iacolucci, who finished fourth at 208. Tanner Higham (Shelley High) of Utah State won with a 205.
